SweeDiary

Tonight's Sill

A diary kept on Chin Swee Road — the day set down before the lamps go out.

I keep this diary because Chin Swee Road rarely announces its shifts — it lets you notice them from a sill, at a wet market, or when a line of ink stalls on the page. These entries are my attempt to set the day down while it still has temperature.

You will find longer notes when something stops me mid-sentence — like the sirens below block 51 on 12 November — and shorter ones when a kopitiam pillar or a hill lamp says enough without spectacle. None of it is sponsored. None of it is instruction. If you walk these pavements, you might recognise the stall numbers and lift lobbies; if you do not, I hope the sentences feel like standing beside someone at a window, watching the street breathe.

Welcome

Pages from the sill

Start with the featured entry if you want the longest read; open the journal if you prefer five shorter windows into ordinary hours. Either door leads to the same neighbourhood — different lengths, same lamp.

About the diary

Written by Lina

I am a resident who prefers pen and keyboard to performance. SweeDiary is not a guidebook — it is where I file evenings, kind strangers, and the occasional hour when the road sounds different for reasons I cannot name.
